Psyllium husks: Soluble dietary fibre used to relieve constipation, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and diarrhoea and to improve and maintain regular digestive transit. Recent research suggests a promising role in lowering cholesterol and controlling diabetes.
Atriplex Halimus (Mediterranean saltbush): High in protein, vitamins C, A, and D, as well as minerals such as chromium. It is also being investigated for its anti-diabetic effects and may prove useful in the treatment of type 2 diabetes by helping to stabilise blood sugar levels.
Vitamin C: Supports the immune system, wound healing and recovery, heart health, healthy cholesterol levels, healthy
blood pressure, stable blood sugar levels and the growth and repair of cells. It is also a powerful antioxidant.
Calcium: About 99% of the calcium in the human body is held in the bones and teeth. The remaining 1% circulates in the bloodstream, where it performs a variety of important functions: it helps to contract muscles, regulate the contractions of the heart, transmit nerve impulses and clot blood. Calcium also regulates the secretion of various hormones and aids in the
functioning of various enzymes within the body.
Phosphorus: Phosphorus is required by the body for bone and teeth formation; calcium alone can't build strong bones and tissues. Phosphorus also facilitates the proper digestion of riboflavin and niacin, aids in the transmission of nerve impulses, helps the kidneys to excrete waste and provides energy. Both calcium and phosphorus are found naturally in dairy products, but most calcium supplements and calcium-fortified foods and beverages don't contain phosphorus, particularly those that are dairy free!
.
Aloe vera: Aloe vera plays an important role in digestive health. It has been used to treat and soothe the harsh symptoms of colitis, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and ulcers. It is also used as a slimming aid (because of its positive effects on energy levels and metabolism) and to support the immune system (it contains a broad spectrum of vitamins, including vitamins A, B1, B2, B6, B12, C and E).
Siberian Ginseng: Siberian ginseng is one of the most widely-used medicinal herbs and has been used for centuries throughout Eastern Europe and China. It contains chemicals (called eleutherosides), which can stimulate the immune system and help fight infection. It is also often used to boost muscle strength and physical stamina.
.
Vitamin B3 (Nicotinamide): Helps the body convert food into glucose, is used to produce energy and used for DNA repair and stress responses. High doses have been used successfully to lower elevated LDL (‘bad‘) cholesterol and fat levels in the blood and to increase HDL (‘good‘) cholesterol. There is also evidence to suggest that it can help to delay the time individuals with type 1 diabetes need to take insulin.
Potassium (Gluconate): Potassium is an electrolyte. It is important to keep a balance of electrolytes in your body for heart health, health blood pressure, stable blood sugar levels, bone health and muscle function. Those who suffer from malabsorption syndromes, such as Crohn's disease, or take loop diuretics, are likely to benefit in particular from supplementing their diet with potassium gluconate.
PABA: Para-aminobenzoic acid (PABA) is a B Complex vitamin. It is used in the formation of folic acid and the metabolism of protein. As a potent antioxidant, PABA is also well-known for its anti-aging properties and for alleviating the inflammation of arthritis.
Choline Bitartrate: Choline (a vitamin B complex nutrient) is used for treating or preventing several diseases, including arteriosclerosis and certain deficiencies of brain function and memory. It has also been shown to be essential for proper brain development in infants and children.
Inositol: Inositol is a vitamin B complex nutrient that plays a part in maintaining cell function, cell communication and nerve conduction. Choline and inositol work closely together in the body and both act to prevent fatigue (through the distribution of
food fat needed for energy), liver cleanse, promote brain health, prevent hair loss and support healthy cholesterol levels.
Vitamin B5 (Calcium Pantothenate): Necessary for the release of energy from carbohydrates, the synthesis and degradation of fatty acids and other acetylation reactions, the production of steroid hormones, the adrenal glands’ production of hormones and nervous system function. It is required to gain resistance to stress, shock and allergies, plus protection against radiation-caused cellular damage. It is also known to play a role in preventing depression.
Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine HCL): Essential for the breakdown of food and the production of energy, the production of neurotransmitters and for the proper functioning of the nervous system and the immune system. It is also involved in the synthesis of hormones and red blood cells. Also helps fight stress and manage symptoms of pre-menstrual syndrome (PMS).
Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin): Affects thyroid hormone production, which is responsible for speeding up the metabolism and providing steady energy. It also helps the body produce immune cells and build red blood cells. Contains substances that assist other nutrients as powerful antioxidants, repair and maintain tissue and heal wounds. It also helps with healthy eye
functions and healthy nerves.
Zinc (Gluconate): Zinc supports normal growth and health of skin, bones, hair, nails and eyes. Furthermore, it assists in the maintenance of the immune, reproductive and digestive systems. It plays a role in cell reproduction, proper absorption of vitamins and protein synthesis, and hormonal balance. It is essential for making growth hormones and the important male hormone, testosterone.
Vitamin B1 (Thiamin): Vitamin B1 plays an important role in maintaining a healthy nervous, digestive and cardiovascular system. It helps in the conversion of carbohydrates into glucose, which in turn is used to produce energy for carrying out various body functions. It is required for the breakdown of fats and protein.
Iron (Gluconate): Adequate iron intake and/or stores provide cells with the necessary oxygen required for cell functions and to prevent fatigue.
Manganese (Gluconate): Manganese gluconate is a salt of manganese and gluconic acid that supports energy production,
thyroid function and bone development in the body.
Vitamin A (Acetate): Vitamin A has a role to play in a diverse range of functions, such as vision, immunity, maintenance of skin, bone and body growth, normal cell development, re-production, maintaining healthy teeth, skeletal and soft tissue and mucous membranes.
Vitamin D2: Vitamin D is essential for regulating cell growth, increasing calcium and phosphorus absorption, maintaining immune system integrity and cardiovascular health. It also helps to maintain blood calcium levels for building bones and teeth, muscle contraction and the transmission of nerve impulses.
Vitamin E: A powerful antioxidant, vitamin E helps to remove free radicals - unstable compounds that damage cell structure, increasing the risk of cancer and weakening the immune system. It also protects against eye diseases, diabetes, pancreatic disorders, Alzheimer's Disease and supports healthy cholesterol levels, skin and joint mobility.
Copper Gluconate: Needed to, for example, maintain healthy skin, hair colour, bone health and to form red blood cells. One of its key functions is to serve as a vital component of proteins and many enzymes and it is a necessary precursor to a powerful antioxidant in the body - superoxide dismutase.
Iodine (Potassium Iodide): Needed for the healthy function of the thyroid gland and aids the body in detoxification. Iodine deficiency may also be linked to arthritis, emotional disorders, malfunctioning glandular systems and weight gain associated with hormonal imbalance.
Folic acid: One of several B-vitamins, it is needed for production and maintenance of new cells as well as for DNA and RNA synthesis. Especially important for women of child-bearing age, those considering becoming pregnant, or already pregnant. This is because folate is vital for proper development of a foetus’ brain and spine and the prevention of neural tube defects.
Selenium: Incorporated into proteins to make selenoproteins, which are important antioxidant enzymes and help to regulate
thyroid function and play a role in the immune system.
Chromium (Picolinate): Acts as an anti-diabetic agent, lowers blood lipid levels and stimulates weight loss. Chromium picolinate, in contrast to other chromium salts, is better absorbed during digestion leading to a higher chromium blood level and is therefore more often preferred than other chromium supplements. Helps to stabalise blood sugar levels, appetite & cravings.
Biotin: Plays a major role in the metabolism of fats, proteins and glucose. Biotin is essential for healthy cell growth and is often recommended for stable blood sugar levels and hair, nail and skin conditions.
Vitamin B12: Primarily used as an energy-booster, for the creation of red blood cells, to promote weight loss, to support emotional well-being (it is often used in the treatment of depression) and a stable nervous system and to support healthy sleep patterns.
