Lifestyle changes and Heart disease
Our body needs support; and this is best when provided naturally in our food, and when we exercise in the fresh morning air. To keep the systems of the body in good working order our food must provide natural inhibitors or antioxidants that can retard or stop all together any abnormal activities within the body such as the oxidation of cholesterol. Fruits, nuts, wholegrain foods, vegetables, and some herbs will provide all the antioxidants that the body needs to eliminate excess free radicals, and inhibit the oxidation of cholesterol. Thus lowering the risk of heart disease, strokes and cancer.
However, no matter how good the food we eat; if it is not aided by simple water, fresh air, sunshine and physical exercise, the full benefit which should result from the food will not be gained. To deviate from the law that governs our body is like committing suicide, slowly but surly, because a whole food diet, water, fresh air, sunshine and exercise helps to move the chyle, which is made from lymph and emulsified fats in the small intestine during digestion of ingested fats, through the body's thoroughfare; and lowers our total blood cholesterol.
Lifestyle changes is often overlooked by most physician in favour of medication, procedures, and surgery, but medication only treat the symptoms of blocked coronary arteries, they can never unblocked them. However, invasive procedures like balloon angioplasty in which a balloon like device is used to unblock arteries, will restore blood flow. And depending on the type of blockage another type of procedure called atherectomy may also be done. This is an operation where a special pulverising device is used to open harden blockages in the coronary artery.
Nevertheless, although these procedures and surgery like coronary artery bypass graft (CABG): an open heart surgery in which a blood vessel is grafted from somewhere else in the body to the coronary artery to bypass the blocked section of the coronary artery to improve the supply of blood and the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to the heart, save many lives, they still do not get rid of the underline cause of coronary heart disease, instead they only temporarily fix the problem. |
